Confinement Division

The Allen County Confinement Division is responsible for the care, custody, and control of both sentenced persons and pre trial detainees confined at the Allen County Confinement Facility. Staff ensures that the basic needs of the inmate population are met on an ongoing basis. Ensuring that a safe, clean, environment is maintained is critical in the management of any confinement facility.

In addition to the inmate population at the Confinement Facility, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department administers a Work Release Program. Sentenced inmates that qualify are allowed to hold a job while staying at the Work Release Center. Participation in the Work Release Program allows sentenced persons to take care of their financial responsibilities while serving their sentence. The program is funded by fees paid by the participants and uses no tax dollars.
